Honorable Rhonda Binda, Esq
Rhonda is a visionary leader with trisector sector experience, and globally recognized as a People’s Choice winner for building smart, safe and compassionate cities. Rhonda is Special Counsel to Public Safety and Emergency Management at the NYC Office of Technology & Innovation. She served as CEO of the People’s House, Gracie Mansion Conservancy and as Queens Deputy Borough President helping turn Queens around from being the epicenter of covid to the most vaccinated county in the country. Rhonda also served in the federal government as a diplomat at the U.S. Department of State under President Obama, in the West Wing of the White House under President Clinton, at the Office of National Drug Control Policy and for the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary.
MIn between government tours she practiced technology law at Alston & Bird LLP with a focus on emerging tech and breaking up monopolies bringing internet and cable access to millions of more households. Later as Co-founder of Venture Smarter, they developed smart city standards for NIST and the framework for forming the bipartisan U.S. Congressional Smart Cities Caucus in 2017. Born in the South Bronx and raised in Queens, Rhonda returned to NYC to serve her community. As Executive Director of the Jamaica BID, she revitalized downtown with her 3T strategy: Technology, Tourism and Transportation. During her tenure Jamaica, Queens was named the #1 neighborhood in NYC by WSJ and StreetEasy, as well as competed for and won the first award from New York State for downtown revitalization, and the NYC SBS Neighborhood Challenge Grant for an immersive art gallery. Rhonda served on the board for the New York Hall of Science, Guyanese Girls Rock Foundation and the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens. She is an Adjunct Professor at CUNY’s Medgar Evers and Queens Colleges for the Macauley Honors Program. She receives Public Interest Technology grants from New America to develop coursework on smart and connected cities. In addition, Rhonda earned her B.A. in Economics and Public Policy from Duke University with a minor in African-American Studies. She is a Lord Rother mere Scholar from Oxford University and alum of the Georgetown University Law Center and currently serves as Queens County District Leader for Richmond Hill Queens.

Justice Karen Gopee was elected in November 2021 and currently presides in Queens Supreme Court, Criminal Term’s Hearing & Trial Part, after serving as a Criminal Court Judge in Queens County since 2015. She has presided over the Youth Part, the Domestic Violence Part as well as the Specialty Felony Waiver Part, working to improve alternative to incarceration dispositions and increase programming options. She made history twice, when she was appointed and then elected as the first Indo-Caribbean jurist to the bench in New York State. Prior to the bench, she served as the Principal Court Attorney at the Red Hook Community Justice Center where she handled Criminal, Family and Housing Court matters and implemented programs that improved police/community relations, diverted youth from criminal court and helped adolescents and adults receive treatment in lieu of incarceration. She began her legal career at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, where she specialized in the prosecution of domestic violence and child abuse cases. She is a founding member and past President of the South Asian and Indo-Caribbean Bar Association of Queens, and currently serves as a member of the Advisory Board. She is also Treasurer to the Asian American Judges Association of New York and is a board member and CLE Chair for the Caribbean American Lawyers Association. She received her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and her B.A from Binghamton University. She regularly volunteers across NYC to raise awareness regarding domestic violence, sex abuse and access to the Courts. She mentors’ students and junior attorneys and judges, has planned and participated in continuing legal education classes for thousands of attorneys on topics ranging from discovery to immigration and has received dozens of honors nationally and internationally for her work.

After earning her Juris Doctor in 2013 and being admitted to practice law in 2014, she established The Grigoropoulos Law Group in 2016 with a mission to fight for the injured, the voiceless, and the working-class families too often overlooked by the legal system. Over the past decade, Chrissy has built one of New York’s leading personal injury and workers’ compensation law firms, representing thousands of clients who might otherwise have been denied fair treatment. She has been a tireless advocate in securing medical care for victims, ensuring families receive just compensation, and creating a workplace culture rooted in dignity, empathy, and opportunity. Beyond her courtroom victories, Chrissy is recognized for her community outreach and philanthropy, including becoming fluent in Spanish to better serve her clients. She organizes annual back-to-school drives, supports immigrant and minority business owners, and mentors’ young men and women aspiring to enter the legal profession. Her leadership reflects Dr. King’s vision of using education, advocacy, and service as tools for social progress. Today, while raising three young children under the age of four, Chrissy continues to balance motherhood with her mission-driven work and running a three-location law group. Her dedication is a living testament to the belief that true justice is achieved not only through legal victories, but through service, compassion, and the empowerment of future generations."

Cindy Brown was born and raised in the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago. She migrated to the United Stated in 1998 to acquire her Bachelor of Arts degree at Medgar Evers College. In 2001 she was crowned Miss Medgar Evers College for her famous monologue performance of Sojourner Truth “Aint I A Woman?” One of her many accolades at Medgar Evers College wats a feature in Ebony Magazine representing entitled “The College Queen.” Ms. Brown’s performances have since provided many opportunities. Some of the places Ms. Brown has performed recently is in the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, Concord Baptist Church and at back at her alma mater, Medgar Evers College, just to name a few. She later acquired her Masters of Business (MBA) from Monroe College in 2009. She is the founder of “Sisters of Excellence,”.

Shareefa Williams, a humanitarian from South Richmond Hill, donates her time doing charity work whenever she can. At the beginning of the 2020 COVID, she would go to public areas and hand food or canned goods to those in need. She continued to feed the homeless through the entire year, all four seasons, rain, snow or shine. It's currently 2024 and Shareefa continues to serve her community by spreading to the that no one should be hungry.To highlight her past community involvement, she was part of the ICCA working with the senior centers for approximately 10 years, she was working alongside Christine Persaud, who also provided pantry services, for approximately 20 years, ICF for 4-5 years and she has been a part of Guyana Day USA for approximately 3-4 years.It’s 2025 and Shareefa is the president/founder of Together We Serve Inc. On a weekly basis, she is feeding the homeless, hosting coat drives in various locations such as Liberty Avenue, Jamaica Avenue and the Adult Day Care Centers. Shareefa truly provides humanitarian services to the Richmond Hill Community and will continue to do so to help those in need. She hopes to keep everyone’s spirits up through hard times!

Rachelle Louis is a young woman born and raised in Haiti who migrated to America at the age of 8 years old. She found herself stepping into a whole new world with her father and 3 of her siblings. The world of the unknown. She was driven by faith, resilience, and purpose. From an early age, life taught her the power of perseverance and the beauty that can rise from pain. Losing her father during the global pandemic was one of the hardest moments of her life—a loss that deeply shaped her journey. Yet through that heartbreak, Rachelle found strength she never knew she had. She discovered that God never gives you anything you cannot handle, and in His perfect timing, He reveals exactly who you were created to be. walking in faith and stepping boldly into rooms she never imagined she would be in. Her journey began humbly as a shampoo girl, where she built meaningful relationships with every beautiful soul who walked through those salon doors. That was the moment God began to expand her—stretching her beyond her comfort zone and preparing her for greater purpose. Her path led her to work with children at a pediatric center, a role that deepened her compassion and care for others. From there, she transitioned to working alongside colorectal surgeons, providing quality healthcare services to patients with excellence and empathy. When that season came to an end, Rachelle chose to trust God once again—believing that every closed door would lead to a greater one. She is passionate about mentoring and coaching women, leaders, and emerging leaders, while encouraging believers through her books, conferences, weekly columns in All Woman Magazine (Jamaica Observer) and her inspiring weekly TV program Power & Purpose on the NOW Network.

Imam Safraz Bacchus is a distinguished faith leader who has been serving the New York City community for over thirteen years. He currently holds the position of Imam and Scholar-in-Residence at Masjid al-Abidin in Queens, NY. His dedicated service, coupled with his chaplaincy work with New York’s diverse faith leaders, hospitals, law enforcement, and elected officials, has earned him widespread recognition and respect. I mam Bacchus serves as a community partner with the NYPD’s and specifically the 106th Precinct and is a trusted community partner with the department. He is also a graduate of the Citizen Police Academy Program and a current member of the Clergy Advisory Council for Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. Born in Guyana, Imam Bacchus developed an early passion for Islamic law and theology. In 1993, he was awarded a full scholarship by the Government of Egypt, in collaboration with the Government of Guyana, to study Islamic Jurisprudence, Arabic, and Theology at the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Cairo. After completing his studies in 2004, he returned to Guyana and joined the Central Islamic Organization of Guyana (CIOG) as a religious educator. Under CIOG’s leadership, he played a key role in poverty alleviation efforts and the coordination of orphan care programs. Before migrating to the United States in 2013, Imam Bacchus became a well-known public figure in Guyana, hosting a popular weekly television program that addressed issues of spiritual, social, and national importance. In 2015, he earned a Master’s Degree in Islamic Studies from the American Open University in the United States. His thesis, “Towards a Faith-Based Understanding of Environmental Ethics,” explored the intersection of faith and environmental responsibility. He went on to complete four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) through Northwell Health, and currently serves as a chaplain at two major healthcare facilities in Queens. As part of his chaplaincy role—and in response to the ongoing mental health crisis—Imam Bacchus offers spiritual and emotional support to individuals facing mental health challenges in New York City, working closely with patients and healthcare professionals to promote holistic healing and well-being. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Imam Bacchus provided crucial emotional and spiritual support to grieving families, while also coordinating food and meal distributions for the elderly and vulnerable members of the community. His humanitarian work extends beyond the United States. Imam Bacchus continues to coordinate aid and relief efforts for underserved communities in Senegal, Gambia, and other West African nations, as well as in his native Guyana. These efforts include the distribution of school supplies, food hampers, and other essential items. In recognition of his lifelong service, Imam Bacchus received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Office of the President of the United States in 2002. His efforts to combat gun violence through interfaith collaboration have also earned him special recognition from the City of New York and the NYPD’s 106th Precinct. In 2023, the New York State Assembly passed Resolution 785, officially honoring Imam Bacchus with the Lincoln-King Visionary Award for his unwavering commitment to service and community building. In February 2024, he was honored with the prestigious opportunity to deliver the invocation at the opening session of the New York State Assembly, as well as at the inauguration of New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, the 57th Governor of New York. Imam Safraz Bacchus is widely respected for his empathetic and compassionate leadership, and he remains a passionate advocate for peace, interfaith dialogue, and religious harmony.

Ms. Madiha Mustafa and I have the privilege of serving as Senior Vice President of the Pakistani American Community of USA, with her background including former Vice President of PACOLI (Pakistani American Community of Long Island), one of New York's most vibrant community organizations. Over the past five years, my commitment has been to dedicate substantial time to community service, engaging in philanthropic efforts both in the US and Pakistan. Her commitment to community uplift is mirrored in my participation in diverse social, religious, cultural, and ethnic gatherings. With a strong foundation in the arts, she embarked on her journey after graduating from a prestigious art school in Pakistan. Following her relocation to New York, she pursued studies in cosmetology, refining her skills to become an adept makeup artist. After 14 years of dedicated experience, she has garnered recognition for her expertise, specializing in bridal and celebrity makeup artistry. Notably, she played a crucial role in the success of the Miss Indian contest in the United States and collaborated with prominent figures from both Bollywood and Hollywood. In addition to her professional achievements, she remains deeply committed to advancing the cause of women's empowerment. In 2025, during Women's History Month celebrations, she hosted a Pakistani fashion showcase to twenty countries at the Dr. King's Visionary Awards and received a Proclamation from United States Senator Chuck Schumer for her community service. She spearheaded initiatives celebrating women's achievements from diverse backgrounds, highlighting gender equality and empowering women through workshops, panel discussions, and community outreach programs. Her greatest joy stems from her loving family, comprising her husband and two children, who inspire her daily. Dr. Kimberly Robinson has over 21 years of experience in public health, with expertise in biology, environmental health, and community engagement. She serves as Director of the Bureau of Health Access (formerly the Office of Health Equity) at the Nassau County Department of Health, where she leads programs that address health disparities and improve access to essential health resources. She began her career in 2004 as a Public Health Sanitarian, working to protect communities from environmental contaminants and health risks, and later advanced to Public Health Sanitarian Supervisor in the Office of Food Protection, where she oversaw food safety compliance and staff operations. In 2006, she also volunteered with the American Red Cross Disaster Assessment Response Squad (DARS), providing hurricane preparedness education and supporting families after house fires.Dr. Robinson is an Adjunct Professor at Nassau Community College, teaching introductory and advanced biology courses. She is also the Founder and President of KMR Health Empowered Solutions™, a consulting venture that develops public health curricula and training programs for schools, organizations, and professionals. In all her roles, she is dedicated to advancing health equity, fostering community resilience, and mentoring future public health leaders.

Dr. Devicka Persaud is a board-certified family medicine physician who has been serving Richmond Hill, Queens for over 25 years. She was born in Guyana, South America and moved to the US when she was seven years old with her two wonderful parents who were factory workers. She is the eldest of four siblings, and enjoyed taking care of her brother and sisters. Dr. Persaud grew up in Brooklyn, NY where she attended Brooklyn Tech high school. She later majored in microbiology at Long Island University and attended New York University school of Medicine. Dr. Persaud has her own private practice in Richmond Hill, Queens which offers a full range of family practice, including pediatric and gyn services. Dr. Persaud knew from a very young age that she wanted to pursue medicine. She’s always had a desire to help others and finds joy in improving the health of her patients. She also has a passion for teaching and frequently supervises medical students during their clinical rotations in her office. When she’s not in the office Dr. Persaud enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two children - Devyani and Nived. She enjoys traveling, a good book, and going on hikes. Dr. Persaud also has a passion for giving back to the community. While at a medical outreach with a mobile unit in India Dr. Persaud met with a young monk in training who she began working with to assist with poverty and lack of education for children in poor villages of India. She works closely with the Pranabanada Vidya Mandir Jengkha in India to build schools and provide housing for disabled children. These projects also provide job opportunities for construction workers, teachers, cooks etc. Dr. Persaud believes that with education any child can rise above their current circumstances.

Her professional background includes nearly a decade in commercial lending, where she honed her skills in assessing and mitigating financial risks to ensure the strength and sustainability of banks' lending portfolios. This experience provided her with a solid foundation for strategic planning and leadership. Lisa’s dedication to service is reflected in her extensive involvement with several community organizations. She currently serves as the President of the Board of Trustees for the Lakeview Public Library, where she leads efforts to foster education and literacy. As a founding member and President of the Lakeview Civic Association, she promotes civic engagement and community development. Additionally, Lisa is an executive member of the NAACP Lakeview Branch, Legislative Chair for the Nassau County chapter of Jack and Jill of America, and Committee Chair for Voice CSEA, Local 100A. Through each of these roles, Lisa remains unwavering in her commitment to amplifying the voices of residents, creating memorable community engagement experiences, and advocating for positive change. Her contributions extend beyond organizational leadership—she also serves as a dedicated children’s Sunday school teacher at her church, fostering connection, learning, and spiritual growth among young community members. Lisa’s passion for advocacy led her to enter the political arena in 2024, when she ran for the New York State Assembly. This experience allowed her to engage deeply with residents, address them concerns, and educate the community about the electoral process. One of her most notable achievements include successfully challenging county legislative district maps that marginalized voters in communities of color. Her efforts ensured that more residents from these communities now have the opportunity to select and elect candidates who truly represent them interests. Driven by empathy, determination, and a relentless dedication to fostering equity and inclusivity, Lisa continues to be a beacon of positive change. Her work not only strengthens community ties but also inspires others to become advocates for their own neighborhoods. With over a decade of experience in community organizing and human rights advocacy, she previously served as liaison to the Nassau County Office of Asian American Affairs, championing representation, civil liberties, and cultural competency in government. Her leadership has earned her recognition as a Politics NY & am New York DEI Power Player, City & State NY Long Island Power 100 honoree, and 2025 AAPI Power Player. Under Iman’s leadership, We Belong Here NY addresses hate violence, Islamophobia, voter suppression, and food insecurity while empowering women and youth through civic literacy and trauma-informed leadership. She played a key role in advancing Resolution 0095, supporting AAPI and religious diversity education in NYC public schools, and created the groundbreaking New York Muslim Women’s Wellness Symposium, the first citywide event focused on Muslim women’s mental health and holistic well-being. Her work emphasizes “calling people in” rather than “calling out,” reflecting her commitment to restorative justice and sustainable movement building. Inspired by the legacy of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Iman’s leadership centers mercy, service, and justice as the roots of community power. Widely recognized for her visionary impact, Iman continues to build coalitions across sectors to advance equity and representation. Her ultimate goal: to grow We Belong Here NY into a lasting institution that nurtures future leaders and builds a New York where everyone truly belongs.

Noida Clarke is a Jamaican American Registered Nurse with over 25 years of working experience in Healthcare Industries. Noida Clarke is a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) residing in New Jersey. She began her journey by graduating from Excelsior Community College in Jamaica, West Indies, in 1999, where she completed the Registered Nursing Program. Furthering her education, Noida earned her Post Basic Psychiatric Nursing Certification from the Ministry of Health in Jamaica in 2003, equipping her with specialized skills in mental health.In 2006, she migrated to United State of America and in 2008 she obtained her New Jersey RN Licensure and served as the Education Manager at Care One Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Livingston, NJ. From 2008 to 2011, she worked as a Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department at Overlook Medical Center, providing critical care to both adult and pediatric patients. Then, she transitioned into a unique role as Clinical Case Manager at Division of Child Protection and Permanency and Amerigroup Insurance from 2012 to 2018. In 2020 to 2022, Noida expanded her expertise into Home Care Nursing with Stay Well Home Care Agency. She graduated as a Certified Assistant Living Administrator in New Jersey – from Longtree and Associates, LLC. Currently, she’s is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Instructor and Evaluator serving at Essex County College and Ace Healthcare Training Institute in Union County, where she plays a crucial role in training the next generation of healthcare professionals. Beyond her nursing career, Noida is an ordained Evangelist with the First United Tabernacle International Ministries in East Orange, NJ. She actively serves in the Women's Department, Youth and Education Department within the church. Her community involvement includes organizing health fairs in Orange, NJ and partnering with international missions to support global health initiatives. Additionally, Noida is a Certified Maxwell Leadership speaker and a Certified High-Performance Coach with Brendon Burchard, utilizing her leadership skills to inspire and mentor others in both healthcare and community settings. Her multifaceted contributions reflect her deep commitment to service, education, and community health, making her a valuable asset to both her profession and her community.

Born on July 15, 1987, in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Queens, she has spent her life turning purpose into impact through both her career and faith Weaslyne earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from CUNY York College in 2010, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Roberts Wesleyan College in 2014. Motivated by a deep desire to extend care beyond traditional settings, Weaslyne founded her own home care agency in 2022, delivering personalized, quality services to individuals and families in need. In 2025, she further expanded her mission by launching a CPR/BLS business, equipping others with critical lifesaving skills. That same year, she earned a Master’s degree in Nursing Informatics from Walden University, combining her clinical knowledge with technology to improve patient care systems and outcomes. Beyond her professional endeavors, Weaslyne is deeply passionate about serving her community. At Building Service 32BJ Benefit Funds, Dr. Tamari leads operations for one of New York City’s largest and most impactful dental centers. She manages a multidisciplinary team of more than 80 professionals and is spearheading a major expansion that includes 29 new operatories and a full-service dental laboratory—transforming the facility into one of the city’s premier destinations for comprehensive dental care. Previously, she served as Dental Director at The Mount Sinai Hospital and The Institute for Family Health, where she held faculty appointments in both the Departments of Dentistry and Family Medicine where she published her studies. Her earlier experience in Federally Qualified Health Centers and school-based health systems deepened her lifelong dedication to health equity and access to care. The recipient of multiple scholarships, Dr. Tamari earned her Bachelor of Science from York University, her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto, and completed her General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. Beyond her clinical and administrative achievements, Dr. Tamari is co-owner of the Home Health Aide Training Institute with Dr. Maria Santiago, an initiative focused on addressing the national shortage of healthcare workers. Under their leadership, the Institute is expanding to new locations and incorporating robotics and modern training technologies to prepare a new generation of caregivers. Service and community leadership have always been central to Dr. Tamari’s life. As an active volunteer with Chabad of Lake Success, she organizes educational, outreach, and fundraising initiatives that strengthen families and foster connection across her community. Born in Iran, Dr. Tamari and her family fled persecution and resettled in Canada, supported by JIAS and the remarkable resilience of her mother and brother, Dr. Farshad Tamari with whom she is a co-inventor. At the age of 21, driven by a deep desire to further his education and build a future beyond his hometown, Serge left Belladère and moved to Port-au-Prince, the capital city of Haiti. After completing his high school education, Serge pursued higher studies at École Saints Trinity de Port-au-Prince, where he earned a degree in accounting. His discipline, dedication, and commitment to service led him to a distinguished career in the Haitian military, where he served as an army officer for 15 years. During this time, he was stationed at the prestigious National Palace (Palais National), working alongside high-ranking government officials and playing a key role in national service. Outside of his professional life, Serge was an active and devoted member of the 2nd Baptist Church of Port-au-Prince. It was there that he met and married his beloved late wife, Darcilia Chavre. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising four children rooted in faith and strong values. In 1995, Serge made a life-changing move to the United States, where he continued to grow both spiritually and academically. In 1997, he became a member of the Church of God Faith in Christ, a community that would become a cornerstone of his life and ministry. Pursuing his passion for theology and pastoral care, Serge obtained a Master’s Degree in Theology in 2004 from the Centre d’Étude et de Rééducation Évangélique de New York.
